Abstract

This work analyzes the importance of a service of translation and interpretation of languages in the international negotiations between the Ecuadorian exporting companies, considering that at the moment there is a great interest of local producers on capturing a percentage of the market in Asia. According to this fact, one of the important aspects is the role of the translator and interpreter in the communication with the importers. However, the companies in the cocoa sector do not have a department of Translation and Interpretation (T&I), or they don’t know how to speak in English properly. To develop the study, a qualitative research was used, for which it was necessary to interview some of the people who represent this industry.
